Celebrating Odeon
Odeon Cinema is an historical building which would evoke nostalgia in those grew up in the 1970s and 1980s and is being listed as heritage and class building. However, it has been abandoned since 2015 and was set to be demolished to make way for shopping complex according to their current owner, UDA Holdings Sdn Bhd. However, this will lead to diminishment of identity. There is a public outcry regarding their decision. Therefore, the proposed project seeks to breathe new life into the cinema by preserving its architectural heritage, upgrading its facilities, and creating a vibrant entertainment destination for the community.
